With UAE implementing VAT starting from 1st of January 2018 it is mandatory for eligible businesses to register with the Federal Tax Authority (FTA) and obtain the Tax Registration Number (TRN) as per the deadline published by FTA given below:

• Businesses with a turnover of over AED 150M should apply to register before 31 October 2017.
• Businesses with a turnover of over AED 10M should apply to register before 30 November 2017
• All other eligible businesses need to have applied by 4 December 2017 in order to be registered by the start of 2018.

Businesseswith turnover of more than AED 375,000 in the last 12 months are mandatorily required to register for VAT by the deadline given. Voluntary registration can be done by Businesses whose taxable turnover is more than AED 187,500 in the last 12 months.
